Services I offer
Internal plastering with gypsum multi-finish
Gypsum multi-finish offers a myriad of benefits for your interior surfaces. It’s quick drying properties mean that a large amount of surface area can be covered in a relatively short time. The finish is often preferred to older alternatives to lime. The disadvantages to gypsum is that it is not breathable which often means it is not the first choice for older buildings.
Lime plastering
Lime plaster brings timeless benefits. Renowned for its breathability, lime allows moisture to evaporate, which can help prevent issues like mold and dampness. It’s flexibility makes it resistant to cracks, ensuring longevity and structural integrity. Lime plaster is eco-friendly and contributes to a healthier indoor environment. Lime can be painted with normal emulsion but it is best to use a breathable paint like limewash to prevent issues like trapped moisture.
Dry-lining
Dry lining brings a host of benefits to your interiors. It’s versatility allows for quick installation, minimising disruption during renovation. Dry lining offers a smooth ready to plaster surface, concealing imperfections that may be in the existing substrate. Where appropriate, insulated plasterboard can be used to increase the thermal efficiency of a room or building.
Wall maintenance & repair
Cracks in masonry walls, especially external walls, can lead to moisture ingress through the wall and inside the building. Repairing masonry cracks takes skill and time and is essential for preserving the structural integrity and aesthetics of your building. By addressing cracks promptly, you maintain the protective barrier of your external walls, enhancing durability.
Failed lintel replacement
Replacing failed lintels is crucial for structural stability and longevity of your property. By addressing compromised lintels, you prevent potential structural damage and ensure the continued support of load-bearing elements.
Removing old fireplaces & creating storage
Removing an old fireplace and opting for dry lining inside the space offers a dual benefit. Firstly, it provides a modern and versatile interior by eliminating dated elements, creating a blank canvas. Secondly, converting the space into a storage area can add functional value, offering a discreet and organised solution to maximise your room’s utility without compromising the aesthetics.
Damp & moisture advice
Receiving the right advice on damp and moisture issues is paramount. There is a whole damp industry dedicated to ripping people off, and it doesn’t need to be that way. I can offer reliable advice and practical remedies which will help you avoid potential scams or overpriced solutions.
